It’s matured in ex-Bourbon barrels and then finished for around a year in virgin oak casks.
Time in Bourbon barrels and Virgin Oak casks brings a light sweetness to the Tomatin Legacy, which boasts aromas of vanilla, marshmallow, pineapple, and lemon. On the palate, gentle flavors of candy, pine, lemon sherbet, apples and sponge cake emerge ahead of a light, clean finish.
Tasting Note
Nose: Lemon, panatella and pine forest. Slightly green with vanilla.
Palate: Cracked pepper and sweet barley with pineapple cube sweets. Waves of warming oak beneath.
Finish: Sweet but peppered.
Overall: A clean and certainly affordable single malt whisky.
