Epicurean Blended Malt Whisky
RM320.00
Part of Douglas Laing’s excellent series of Regional Malts, a range of blended malts that represent the qualities of the various whisky producing regions of Scotland. The Epicurean is the offering from the Lowland region, which encompasses two of Scotland’s great cities, Glasgow and Edinburgh. This is reflected in perhaps the best packaging we’ve seen from Douglas Laing (even by their own high standards) with this handsome chap no doubt a dapper man about town. This really is a classic lowland malt, representing the very best of the region. On the nose, this whisky opens with fresh lemon and lime rinds, a little cereal sweetness, some fragrant herbaceous notes followed by a rush of sweet floral aromas and green apple. The palate follows suit, adding green fruity flavours of pears, grapes and apples, grassiness builds here, with a buttery mouthfeel and floral, peppered spice towards the back of the palate. The finish is full of buttered toast with honey, and lingers for quite some time. This whisky is bottled at 46% ABV and without colouration or chill filtration, ensuring you get to taste the very best of the Lowlands!
